Meet Elaine Sigal
I have been involved in education
since 1971 when I graduated with a B.A. in English, Speech
and Theater, and Education from The College of New Jersey.
My studies continued with an M.A. from Villanova University
in English and Teaching of English.
My years of teaching experience,
coupled with my role as a mother of three boys, have instilled in me an ability to
understand the needs of students in an educational environment.
My career in
education spans over 30 years.
I started my teaching career in 1971,
teaching English and Social Studies to students in grades 5-8.
Over the years I have taught at
the middle school, high school,
college and post-graduate
levels, covering a variety of
subjects including English,
Public Speaking, Theater Arts,
Creative Writing, Test Prep,
Study Skills and more. I have
worked with a wide spectrum of
students, from high achievers in
Honors and AP classes, to
students coping with Learning
Disabilities and other
educational challenges.
I find that many of the concepts
and skills can extend beyond a
student's formal educational
environment. Reading, writing
and speaking skills can also be
enriched for adults in
post-graduate studies or the
working world.
Community
involvement plays an important part in my life.
Throughout my career, I have
coached a variety of student
clubs, activities and sports
teams, participated in
Parent-Teacher Organizations,
and have been active in
community organizations as well
as our synagogue.
I am the founder of
The Enrichment Center and
The Enrichment Center Annex,
both located in Westfield, New
Jersey. I believe that the success of
my work is a testimony to my accurate assessment of
the needs of students in today's society.
I am a
hands-on partner with my students, and I believe that for every child there
needs to be a unique educational program. No two children are
alike in my experience; no two educational programs should be
the same. Private tutoring allows me to create the
optimal learning experience for
each student, and to provide the
best supplemental program to
meet their needs.
